I imagine…
a thriving Earth,
with blue skies and green pastures.
Breathe in, and envision
bright reefs alive, with little schools of fish.
Breathe out, and see the crystal clear
waterfalls with luscious green overgrowth
teeming with crawling critters
of a thousand shapes and sizes.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
And imagine with me.
“how we do one thing is how we do everything”
Communities across the planet are undeniably overwhelmed by rising temperatures in the form of fires, floods, and other natural disasters. When millions of human beings have already been displaced from their homes, how do we account for the nuanced individual responsibility amidst the corporate-driven threat of environmental crisis? As my second year acting teacher introduced, “how we do one thing is how we do everything.”
My “how” is sustainably.
Sustainable art means building lasting conditions for creativity to thrive (and adequate funding to do so).
Sustainable wellness means maintaining mobility well into old age (and the end of crash-diet culture).
Sustainable action against climate change means getting involved locally and globally, nourishing our environment as we resolve this crisis as a community.
Join me with deep presence to these versions of sustainable living.
